About

Orthopaedic care for Hobart and southern Tasmania

Tas Ortho is a specialist orthopaedic practice based at Calvary Consulting Suites in North Hobart. We provide comprehensive care across joint replacement, sports injuries, foot surgery and orthopaedic trauma for patients throughout Hobart and southern Tasmania.

Our philosophy is simple: high quality, evidence-based care with the patient at the centre of every decision. Many people come to us looking for a surgical solution to their pain, when the research shows surgery is not always the best option. Exploring those alternatives with you is an important part of the care we provide. When surgery is the right choice, every decision is made with you and for your specific circumstances.

Our Process

1. REFERRAL
As a specialist practice, you will need a current referral from your GP. If your injury is urgent, your doctor can call us on (03) 6279 5798 for an urgent referral.

2. CONSULTATION
At your first appointment, Mr Sadiq will have a detailed discussion with you about your condition or injury, and provide you with a patient information brochure. Bring your referral, Medicare card, health insurance or MAIB/WorkCover details, and any scans or X-rays.

3. YOUR TREATMENT PLAN
Together you will explore your options, non-surgical and surgical. If surgery is indicated, Mr Sadiq follows a patient-specific approach to decision making, and you will receive clear guidance on preparation and what to expect.

4. RECOVERY AND FOLLOW UP
After your operation, Mr Sadiq reviews you at two to three weeks, then six weeks. Joint replacement patients are reviewed every twelve months. Our team supports you throughout, from physiotherapy in hospital to arranging aids for your return home.
